នៅថ្ងៃទី១០ ខែមករា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ នៅភ្នំពេញ លោក ប្រាក់ សុខុន ឧបនាយករដ្ឋមន្ត្រី និងរដ្ឋមន្ត្រីការបរទេស បានជួបពិភាក្សាការងារជាមួយ​លោក Michael George DeSombre ឧបការីរដ្ឋមន្ត្រីការបរទេសសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិក ទទួលបន្ទុកតំបន់អាស៊ីបូព៌ា និងប៉ាស៊ីហ្វិក។ ជំនួបនេះមានគោលបំណងពង្រឹងទំនាក់ទំនងទ្វេភាគីកម្ពុជា-សហរដ្ឋអាមេរិក បន្ទាប់ពីភ្ញៀវបរទេសបានជួបសម្តែងការគួរសមជាមួយនាយករដ្ឋមន្ត្រី ហ៊ុន ម៉ាណែត។ ភាគីទាំងពីរបានបញ្ជាក់ការពេញចិត្តចំពោះការកែលម្អទំនាក់ទំនងលើវិស័យពាណិជ្ជកម្ម ការវិនិយោគ ការពារជាតិ និងសន្តិសុខ និងបានលើកឡើងពីការទិញយន្តហោះ Boeing យ៉ាងតិច ១០គ្រឿង ដោយក្រុមហ៊ុន Air Cambodia ដែលបង្ហាញពីទំនាក់ទំនងសេដ្ឋកិច្ចកំពុងកើនឡើង។ ពេលដូចគ្នានេះ កម្ពុជាបានអរគុណចំពោះជំនួយ ១០លានដុល្លារពីសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិក សម្រាប់កសាងសមត្ថភាពភ្នាក់ងារអនុវត្តច្បាប់ក្នុងការប្រយុទ្ធប្រឆាំងឧក្រិដ្ឋកម្មតាមអ៊ីនធឺណិត។

ក្នុងប្រធានបទព្រំដែនកម្ពុជា-ថៃ លោក ប្រាក់ សុខុន បានជម្រាបឱ្យភាគីអាមេរិកដឹងថា អាទិភាពរបស់កម្ពុជាគឺរក្សាបទឈប់បាញ់ ឱ្យជនស៊ីវិលភៀសសឹកវិលត្រឡប់មកផ្ទះវិញ និងពន្លឿនការបោះបង្គោលខណ្ឌសីម៉ាព្រំដែន។ គាត់បានអរគុណយ៉ាងជ្រាលជ្រៅចំពោះសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិក និងប្រធានាធិបតី ដូណាល់ ត្រាំ សម្រាប់តួនាទីក្នុងការសម្របសម្រួលបទឈប់បាញ់ថ្ងៃទី២៨ កក្កដា ២០២៥ កិច្ចព្រមព្រៀងសន្តិភាពនៅទីក្រុងគូឡាឡាំពួ ខែតុលា ២០២៥ និងការគាំទ្រអនុវត្តបទឈប់បាញ់ក្នុងសេចក្តីប្រកាសរួម GBC ពិសេសលើកទី៣។ សហរដ្ឋអាមេរិកបានប្តេជ្ញាបន្តលើកទឹកចិត្តការគោរពបទឈប់បាញ់ កាត់បន្ថយភាពតានតឹង លើកទឹកចិត្តដំណើរការកំណត់ខណ្ឌសីម៉ាព្រំដែន និងបានស្វាគមន៍ការដោះលែងយោធិនខ្មែរ ១៨នាក់។ កម្ពុជាក៏បានអរគុណចំពោះជំនួយបន្ថែម ១៥លានដុល្លារសម្រាប់គាំទ្រសហគមន៍តំបន់ព្រំដែន និង ១០លានដុល្លារផ្សេងទៀតសម្រាប់ការដោះមីនមនុស្សធម៌។

Cambodia and United States Discuss Ties, Border Peace and Security Cooperation

On 10 January 2026 in Phnom Penh, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn held working talks with US Assistant Secretary of State Michael George DeSombre, in charge of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, during his short visit to Cambodia. The two sides exchanged views on further deepening bilateral relations, with a focus on trade, investment, defence and security cooperation, following DeSombre's courtesy call on Prime Minister Hun Manet. The United States welcomed Air Cambodia's decision to purchase at least 10 Boeing aircraft, highlighting expanding economic ties. Both sides also underlined the need to strengthen cooperation against online crime, particularly technology-based fraud, while Cambodia thanked Washington for a 10 million US dollar package to build the capacity of Cambodian law enforcement agencies.

Prak Sokhonn briefed DeSombre on the situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border, stressing that Cambodia's priority is to uphold the ceasefire, enable displaced civilians to return home, and accelerate border demarcation. He expressed deep appreciation for the role of the United States and President Donald Trump in facilitating the 28 July 2025 ceasefire, the 26 October 2025 peace agreement reached in Kuala Lumpur, and support for full implementation of the ceasefire as set out in the joint statement of the 3rd Special Session of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee. DeSombre reaffirmed the US commitment under President Trump to promote full respect for the ceasefire, reduce tensions and resume border demarcation towards lasting peace and stability, and welcomed the release of 18 Cambodian soldiers. Cambodia also thanked the US for 15 million US dollars to support border communities and an additional 10 million US dollars for humanitarian demining efforts.
