Cambodian UN Envoy Urges Immediate Action on Thai Military Incursion

The Permanent Representative of Cambodia to the United Nations has called on the UN Security Council to address the ongoing armed incursion by Thai forces. This incursion began on December 7, 2025, when Thai military forces reportedly used heavy weaponry against several Cambodian territories. On December 10, 2025, Cambodia's envoy requested that international bodies intervene to halt these aggressive activities which affect civilian areas.

The Thai military's attacks impacted several locations in Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces, using artillery, tanks, and fighter jets. This has led to increased tensions and violations of international humanitarian norms, as peaceful resolutions remain a priority to prevent further escalation in these regions.
