Electric Charging Stations Throughout Cambodia by 2026

As the use of electric vehicles in Cambodia increases significantly, plans are underway to establish charging stations nationwide. The Ministry of Mines and Energy, the Electricite du Cambodge, and the Electric Authority of Cambodia are working to expand the infrastructure for electric vehicle charging stations. By early 2026, the country aims to have numerous charging stations available throughout Cambodia.

Yim Viseth, the head of the Electric Authority of Cambodia, highlighted the importance of integrating these charging stations with other development projects to enhance the country's electric charging system. So far, licenses have been granted to four companies, and the authority is actively monitoring charging activities through a national app. It emphasizes strict adherence to set prices, with penalties for violations, ensuring that excessive costs are not charged beyond regulatory limits.
