គណៈកម្មាធិការជាតិអូឡាំពិកកម្ពុជា និងក្រសួងអប់រំ យុវជន និងកីឡា បានប្រកាសកាត់បន្ថយចំនួនប្រតិភូកីឡាកម្ពុជាចូលរួមស៊ីហ្គេម លើកទី៣៣ នៅប្រទេសថៃ ចុះមកត្រឹម ១៥០នាក់ ក្នុង ១៣ប្រភេទកីឡា។ តាមសេចក្តីជូនដំណឹង បទបង្ហាញថ្មីនេះធ្វើឡើងបន្ទាប់ពីកម្ពុជាសម្រេចមិនបញ្ជូនកីឡា ៨ប្រភេទ ក្នុងចំណោម ២១ប្រភេទកីឡាដើម ដើម្បីកាត់បន្ថយហានិភ័យ និងការបារម្ភសុវត្ថិភាព ជាពិសេសសម្រាប់កីឡាដែលត្រូវប្រកួតនៅតំបន់ទឹកជំនន់សុងខ្លា។ ការសម្រេចចិត្តត្រូវបានអធិប្បាយថា បានដើរតាមអនុសាសន៍ពីមេរាជរដ្ឋាភិបាល និងផ្ដល់អាទិភាពខ្ពស់បំផុតដល់សុវត្ថិភាពកីឡាករ និងកីឡាការិនី។

Cambodia Cuts SEA Games Delegation To 150 Athletes For Safety Reasons

The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports have announced that Cambodia will reduce its delegation to the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand to 150 athletes competing in 13 sports. The decision, taken ahead of the Games scheduled from 9 to 20 December 2025, follows high-level guidance from the head of government and is aimed at minimizing safety risks, particularly for events planned in flood-affected Songkhla province. Officials said athlete safety and responsible participation were treated as top priorities when revising the delegation plan.

Originally, Cambodia had planned to send 333 athletes across 21 sports, but eight sports have now been dropped: men's and women's football, judo, karate, pencak silat, pétanque, wrestling, wushu and sepak takraw. The remaining 13 sports in which Cambodia will still compete are swimming, athletics, kun bokator, volleyball, gymnastics, jiu-jitsu, e-sports, kickboxing, taekwondo WT, equestrian, jet ski, triathlon and table tennis. The authorities described the move as a difficult but necessary decision to balance participation with risk reduction, and called on the Cambodian public to understand and support this revised approach to the regional competition.
