Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Strengthens Ties with US Congress

On November 5, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol met with US Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne in Washington to discuss strengthening trade relations. The meeting aimed to seek support from the US Congress for American investments in technology and industry sectors. Congresswoman Van Duyne was presented with traditional Khmer clothing, symbolizing Cambodia's rich cultural heritage.

During this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the recent Reciprocal Trade Agreement and the Cambodia-Thailand Peace Accord. This gathering also bolstered cooperation and solidified friendships, including with Congressman Richard McCormick, emphasizing enduring unity and diplomacy between the two nations.
