ASEAN's Implementation of the Five-Point Consensus

On October 24, 2025, an extended informal consultation on the Implementation of the Five-Point Consensus was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the invitation of Malaysia's Foreign Affairs Minister, Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan. Attended by Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, the consultation praised Malaysia's leadership under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and the efforts of ASEAN's Special Envoy to Myanmar in fostering dialogue, reducing violence, and improving humanitarian aid. Cambodia reaffirmed its commitment to ASEAN's efforts and emphasized the importance of mechanisms like the ASEAN Troika to address the Myanmar crisis.

Furthermore, Deputy Prime Minister Sokhonn conducted a bilateral meeting with Malaysia’s Foreign Minister to thank Malaysia for its role in resolving Cambodia and Thailand’s border disputes. The meeting also discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation, with plans for a Joint Commission in 2026.
