Outcomes of the Extended Informal Consultation on the Implementation of the Five-Point Consensus

On 24 October 2025, Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan hosted an Extended Informal Consultation in Kuala Lumpur. Participants praised Malaysia's leadership under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and efforts of the ASEAN Chair's Special Envoy to Myanmar, which include promoting dialogue and humanitarian aid following a recent earthquake.

Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn reiterated support for ASEAN's initiatives in Myanmar, emphasizing a political solution led by Myanmar itself. He highlighted ASEAN Troika mechanisms as essential for maintaining efforts. A bilateral meeting between Cambodian and Malaysian officials highlighted cooperation on Cambodia-Thailand border resolutions and future bilateral initiatives.
