នៅព្រឹកថ្ងៃទី៣០ ខែវិច្ឆិកា ឆ្នាំ២០២៥ រដ្ឋមន្ត្រីក្រសួងធនធានទឹក និងឧតុនិយម លោក ថោ ជេដ្ឋា នាំក្រុមមន្ត្រីបច្ចេកទេសចុះពិនិត្យវឌ្ឍនភាពអនុគម្រោងប្រឡាយមេរលាំងជ្រៃខាងត្បូង ឬប្រឡាយមេរលាំងជ្រៃស្លាគូ នៅឃុំកាហែង ស្រុកសំរោងទង ខេត្តកំពង់ស្ពឺ ដែលការងារសម្រេចបានប្រហែល៩៩%។ ប្រឡាយមេរលាំងជ្រៃស្លាគូមានប្រវែង៥៨,៤៥គីឡូម៉ែត្រ ជាផ្នែកមួយនៃគម្រោងប្រព័ន្ធរំដោះទឹក និងពង្វាងទឹកចេញពីភូមិសាស្ត្ររាជធានីភ្នំពេញ និងតំបន់ជុំវិញ ដែលមានបំណងបន្តកាត់បន្ថយហានិភ័យទឹកជំនន់ និងការរងទឹកភ្លៀងលើសលប់នៅក្នុងតំបន់។ ក្រសួងបញ្ជាក់ថា ប្រឡាយនេះអាចពង្វាងទឹកចេញពីស្ទឹងព្រែកត្នោត ខាងលើខេត្តកំពង់ស្ពឺ ប្រមាណ២០០ម៉ែត្រគូបក្នុងមួយវិនាទី ដើម្បីនាំទឹកចូលស្ទឹងស្លាគូតាមបណ្តោយផ្លូវជាតិលេខ៣ ក្នុងខេត្តតាកែវ។

គម្រោងប្រព័ន្ធដោះទឹក និងពង្វាងទឹកចេញពីភ្នំពេញ ជាជំហានទី១ និងទី២ រួមមានការស្តារស្ទឹង និងប្រឡាយសរុប១០ខ្សែ ប្រវែងប្រហែល២៦០គីឡូម៉ែត្រ និងសំណង់សិល្បករ្យប្រមាណ៣៦៦កន្លែង។ គម្រោងនេះគ្របដណ្ដប់ឃុំ១៨ ស្រុក៤ ក្នុងខេត្តកំពង់ស្ពឺ ឃុំ២៨ ក្រុង/ស្រុក៥ ក្នុងខេត្តកណ្តាល សង្កាត់១០ ខណ្ឌ៣ ក្នុងរាជធានីភ្នំពេញ និងភូមិ១៥ ឃុំ២ ស្រុក១ ក្នុងខេត្តតាកែវ ដែលរំពឹងថានឹងជួយបង្កើនសមត្ថភាពបង្ហូរទឹក ការការពារទឹកជំនន់ និងគាំទ្រកសិកម្ម និងជីវភាពប្រជាពលរដ្ឋនៅតំបន់ទឹកទាំងនេះ។

Water Resources Minister Inspects Progress of Rolang Chrey-Sla Koo Main Canal

On 30 November 2025, Water Resources and Meteorology Minister Thao Jedtha led technical officials to inspect the progress of the southern Rolang Chrey main canal, known as the Rolang Chrey-Sla Koo canal, in Ka Haing commune, Samraong Tong district, Kampong Speu province, where works have been completed by about 99%. The canal, 58.45 km in length, is a key sub-project under the broader drainage and floodway system designed to release excess water from Phnom Penh and surrounding areas, with the objective of reducing flood risk and heavy rainwater accumulation in the region. According to the ministry, the canal will divert around 200 cubic metres of water per second from the upper section of Prek Tnaot River in Kampong Speu towards the Sla Koo River along National Road 3 in Takeo province.

The ministry is implementing phases one and two of the Phnom Penh regional drainage and flood discharge system, which includes the rehabilitation of 10 rivers and canals with a total length of about 260 km, and the construction of around 366 hydraulic structures. The project coverage spans 18 communes in 4 districts of Kampong Speu, 28 communes in 5 cities/districts of Kandal, and 10 sangkats in 3 districts of Phnom Penh, as well as 15 villages in 2 communes of 1 district in Takeo. The system is expected to strengthen flood protection, improve overall drainage capacity, and support agriculture and livelihoods for communities across these flood-prone areas.
